Harbour viewpoint

Located at the north end of Stanley Park, this picturesque spot offers panoramic views of Coal Harbour, North Shore Mountains, Burrard Inlet, and the downtown skyline. It’s one of the most popular spots for locals and visitors alike to take in some incredible sights.

The history behind this viewpoint dates back to 1886 when a road was built along the shoreline connecting Stanley Park with Brockton Point. This stretch became known as “Lovers Lane” due to its popularity among courting couples looking for romantic places to visit on their outings. As time went on it evolved into what we know today as Harbour Viewpoint – an iconic destination that draws in thousands every year who come here just to soak up these amazing views from one of Vancouver’s highest points.

Visitors can access the viewpoint by car or via public transportation such as bus or SkyTrain (the closest station being Waterfront Station). Once you arrive at your destination there are plenty of benches where you can sit down and relax while taking in all that nature has to offer – from sailboats gliding across Burrard Inlet below you, snow-capped mountains standing tall against a backdrop of blue skies above you, or simply watching life go by around Coal Harbour Marina nearby. There are also several walking paths leading through lush gardens surrounding this scenic area which make it perfect for leisurely strolls any time day or night.

No matter how many times you’ve visited before there’s always something new waiting at Harbour Viewpoint; whether it be spotting whales playing off shore during migration season or catching sight of fireworks lighting up over English Bay during summer months – each experience is sure to leave lasting memories that will stay with you long after your journey home.
